In 1982, the Jarretts founded their first gymnastics program inside a covered hay barn in the country near Georgetown, Texas alongside Elvira the donkey. A year later, Capital Gymnastics was born when we moved to a new location.
Now operating three facilities in the greater Austin area, our mission continues to be to teach gymnastics with care and respect, in a fun and safe environment, helping children become happy, healthy, and successful adults.
Capital provides children of the community a program they can be proud of. . . a program that shows love and respect to children. . . a program that teaches positive lifelong habits. . . . a program that helps them become healthy, successful and happy adults.
Capital has ranked among the top ten training programs in the United States. We have produced a long list of talented National Team Members over the years and have sent athletes to Germany, Italy, Japan, Holland, Hawaii, China, England, Canada, Puerto Rico, Ireland, South Africa, Sweden, Spain, and Cuba. We have over 100 gymnasts receive college scholarships for gymnastics.
But, this is only part of the legacy. After instructing thousands of young gymnasts, and hosting hundreds of events over the years, Capital Pride runs deep. Whether it's a Parent & Tot class or Olympic-level training, Capital Gymnastics wants you to know that we take seriously the honor of working with children. Each of our staff members must have a background check and be committed to ongoing training in child development, coaching skills, gymnastics drills and techniques, sexual abuse prevention, First Aid and CPR. Thank you for allowing us to teach your children. We look forward to seeing you at one of our gyms!
